Prezi
My prezi is intended for students as well as parents. It pretty much sums up the last 25 years of my life. I would like to emphasize that point of not ever truly having things 'figured out'. Life is an adventure! Life throws you curve balls constantly. These unexpected occurrences remind us to expect the unexpected. I've come to appreciate these curve balls as opportunities in life to find out what we are made of.
Starting college again as a forty-five year old is surreal. Having the opportunity to share my new found gift of working with children is like a beacon driving me forward. I am enjoying this next chapter of my life and am excited for the sequel. Enjoy my story and never stop creating your story.
This was my second time using Prezi. The first was for my son's school project. At the time, it was so overwhelming that we ended up making a good ol' fashion poster board presentation. Overall, I find Prezi user friendly now. However, you do need to have to learn a whole new program. Also, Prezi seems so creativity driven that content doesn't have to be the focus. The animation can be quite distracting. I think for classes, Power Point is a better choice. If you would want to 'wow' your audience, Prezi is the way to go.

All about me
My name is Connie Flannery. I am very passionate about reading. I am returning to school after 20 years in hopes of becoming a Reading Intervention Specialist. I am returning to school to get my teaching certification and then reading endorsement. I currently work as a Youth Services Specialist through the Columbus Public Library. I work with kindergarten to third grade students twice a week in reading. I love it!!!
I am married with two children (13 and 16). I enjoy reading, running and spending time with my family. I developed a love for teaching while homeschooling my eldest with autism. It is a true joy making a connection with all children by means of education.
I volunteer with my son at the CHA animal shelter. I also have coached Girls on the Run. I enjoy the out doors and nature walks.
